Home Inspection Services

Michigan Home Inspection

Thumb Home Inspection provides a thorough, non-evasive, visual inspection of the structural and mechanical systems found in and around the home. My job is to find deficiencies or potential issues within the home and convey this information to you.

My inspection report will identify items in need of repair to help you make a more informed decision moving forward.

In addition to our thorough Home Inspection we offer the following add-ons:

Radon Testing & Inspection

1 in 4 homes in Michigan is found to have elevated radon concentration. Radon is a tasteless, odorless, and invisible gas. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. THI uses a 48 hour ion chamber that is sent to a local laboratory for test results. There is a minimum two-day waiting period to get quality results. Homeowners have the option to do their own continuous radon testing. THI will begin the testing two days prior of the scheduled home inspection, allowing the quickest results for the overall inspection.

Water Testing & Inspection

Water is our most important resource. But how do you know if the water in your home is safe for consumption? More importantly, how do we test your home’s water?

Each home owner will have different needs for water testing. THI does testing for FHA Loans, Rural Development Loans, & much more. Every home, water system, and water source is unique. THI (Thumb Home Inspection) uses local and reliable laboratories for the quickest and most accurate results. THI will deliver tests to the laboratory each evening . This assures the fastest results for the overall testing.

Sewer Line Scope & Camera Inspection

Mold Inspection & Testing

Each person reacts different to mold, depending on the individual and the strain of mold. Things that can affect this but are not limited to age, compromised immune systems, allergies, and asthma. THI can test air quality and surfaces, as well as specific strains of mold. THI cannot give health advice, it is best to consult with a doctor. But we can suggest a testing for mold if it is a concern. Samples are collected and sent to a local laboratory for results. If time and accessibility are permitting, THI will perform the testing days prior to the scheduled testing. This allows for the quickest overall inspection.
