Marysville Michigan History:

Marysville has a long history due to its location along the St. Clair River.

Even some colorful times during the prohibition era. Marysville had settlers arrive

as early as 1786. Colonel Andrew Mack was a native to Marysville. He was the 11 th

Mayor of Detroit, Co-Founder of the Detroit Free Press, and was Colonel during

the War of 1812. He also helped establish and run a post office for Marysville.

Many sawmills were built in the area of Marysville including one where the old

power plant was located, the power plant was imploded in 2015. Marysville was

originally named Vicksburg. At the time there was already another Vicksburg in

Michigan so the named was changed to Marysville in 1859. Marysville was named

after a man named Nelson Mill’s wife, Mary.

Visit the Marysville Historic Museum to learn more about Marysville history as

Marysville Michigan Geography:

Clair County Michigan. Marysville is just over eight square miles of which one

square mile is water. Marysville is located on border of Ontario Canada along the

Houses, Homes, Buildings, Property Structures, & home Inspections:

Marysville has many historic and modern homes for homebuyers to choose from,

many which have views of the St. Clair River. For homebuyers or home sellers of

historic homes, it is important to include an asbestos and lead inspection during

their home inspection. For modern homes, it is encouraged that the home owners

or home buyers include a radon and mold inspection during their home

inspection.

With Marysville having such a prominent history there is a variety of buildings,

properties, houses, and homes it has to offer. Each home and house has its

unique challenges when doing a home inspection. Your home inspector should be

well versed in the different kinds of homes, buildings, property, and houses in the

area. When doing a home inspection your home inspector should be thoroughly

checking mold, radon, water testing, sewer line, lead, asbestos, pests, pool/spa,

structural engineering, structure components, roof, plumbing, electrical,

foundation, well water, well, septic, and more where applicable. Not every house,

home, building, and property will need the home inspector to perform all of these

inspections. Your home inspector should do these inspections only when

necessary. But whether downtown Marysville or on a lakefront property of

Marysville your home inspector should be well qualified to do home inspections.
